Not to brag. But how many people do you know who’d get up early on a South African July Sunday morning to walk? Yes. To walk?
This year’s “Walk the Talk” saw us taking to the streets of Emmarentia on an 8km fun walk. Although we lost a few of our members along the way when they went AWOL to grab some cuppa coffees – a.k.a “go” juice for the early bird - all were pretty much on their best behavior, and made it to the finish line.
The views were gorgeous. The company, divine, the fresh air: great for thinking minds! Something else that got us thinking, was “alternative jobs for the ad guy or gal who simply cannot be slowed.” Quite funny actually, the sight of a Timesquare staff at the end of a long walk, directing cars out of the parking lot to ease a traffic jam that was keeping us in one spot for a little too long… kudos, we say, to that energized bunny.
Oh yes. Check out our medals! Worth our wait in metal, wouldn’t you say?

Time for some DIY
So there we were one Friday in jeanpant, takkies, rolled up sleeves, and logged off computers (*yay*), moving things around, conking things into walls, sticking wallpaper and hanging stuff up. The result? “Urban Moulan Rouge comes to the idea warehouse”, with a penchant for the contemporary and just enough shiny steel to make for a good and solid, funkified “mind-wall-map”. Loads of fun all in all. Even more fun to watch was Gary (the real DIY expert) trying very hard not send us all away before we broke something (Gary, you’re a good sport J)!
Some pretty good Feng Shui for the office. Check out the pics.

If you're into pharmaceuticals, again, there's the end consumer. But you can't afford to forget the doctor, and the pharmacist - the people who recommend your product, or not. Even if you're selling dog food. Do you ever forget to include vets in your communication? If you're in marketing, you're in multi-marketing. The more traditional term you're probably familiar with is ‘multi-channel' marketing, but the problem with this term is that the use of the word ‘channel' is confusing. For some, particularly if you've ever worked in the IT industry, it's synonymous with middlemen - those who on-sell products to end-consumers. For others, particularly if media is your game, it's all about which media format you use to communicate your message.

Founded by Kim Millar in 1990, Timesquare began its life as a specialist communications agency in the pharmaceutical and health care arenas. With clients including Merck Pharmaceuticals, Reckitt Benckiser and Ranbaxy Laboratories (the world's fifth largest supplier of generic pharmaceuticals), the agency has established itself as one of the top players in this sector. But over the years, it has spread its wings beyond the confines of the health sector to include clients ranging from the vehicle industry to the fashion realm, from FMCG brands to pet care ranges – the products that play an everyday role in our fast-moving urban lives.
